One afternoon I was driving Maria into town. Freedom Builders had recently completed a project on her trailer, and I had maintained a relationship with Maria and her sons. 

As we cruised down the road she said, “Skip, there’s something I want tell you.” 

“Last night, there was a tremendous thunderstorm. Thunder rolled and the boys and I were frightened. We moved to the middle of the trailer and I opened up the Bible given to us by Freedom Builders. Remarkably, the words I read aloud described a storm. But while I read, I realized something. I think that the storm was referring to the one that rages inside of me.” 

“Skip, I felt that God wrote the Bible just for me." 

Isn’t the Holy Spirit remarkable? 

Two years ago, Maria had never owned a Bible. Today, she opens the Bible we gave to her every single morning, and she diligently reads the Word of God to her children before they leave for school. 

God has used his Word powerfully in the life of Maria.
